A teacher from Yeisk who attended a picket against corruption was arrested for 10 days

Alexander Korovayny, a history and social studies teacher and chairman of the Yeisk branch of the Yabloko party, who was detained at a rally of Navalny supporters on June 12, was sentenced to 10 days of arrest.

No listeners were allowed to attend today's hearing of the Yeisk District Court; the trial in the administrative case was held behind closed doors, and the hearing itself lasted about five hours.

“After a five-hour trial, Sasha was given 10 days... no one was allowed into the courtroom, only 2 witnesses were called. Things (to change clothes) and food were not allowed to be handed over either during the trial, or during the escort, or to the police department,” a fellow activist reports on social networks.

Moreover, on the website of the Yeisk District Court of Krasnodar, in the section of the website “Judicial record keeping”, where there should be mandatory information about the consideration of cases pending in courts and the judicial acts adopted on them, there was no information about the trial of Alexander Korovain.

It is worth noting that just a few days ago, Alexander Korovayny worked as a history and social studies teacher at city gymnasium No. 14, but after the protest on June 12, police officers came to the educational institution and held a conversation with the school management.

“First, law enforcement officers talked to the management of the educational institution, which I don’t know about. Then with me. When leaving, they said: “You probably won’t work at school anymore,” Korovayny himself told the Voice of Kuban.

After a conversation between the gymnasium management and law enforcement officers, the young teacher was fired.

Let us recall that during the protest action announced by Alexei Navalny on Russia Day on June 12, a series of pickets were held in Yeisk, the participants of which, including minors, were detained by the police.

Among those detained was Korovayny himself, who learned from social networks about the activists’ intention to hold pickets and came to the site in advance. There he saw teenagers standing together with posters.

“Apparently, they didn’t know how single pickets should take place, I explained to them, ” Korovayny explained then. “ After that, they separated to the legally required distance.

But despite this, after some time the activists were detained and taken to the police department, including Korovayny himself.

Five minors were released from the police; detained activist Ksenia Seredkina was fined 10 thousand rubles for violating the procedure for holding a public event. Another detainee, Alexander Safronov, was arrested on June 13 by court order for 10 days.
