Chechnya: Amriev’s case is discontinued

As the New Gazeta transmitted the day before, Okuev sought from Amriyev “active repentance”, but the suspect refused to plead guilty and filed a petition for the cessation of the persecution. As noted in the publication, guilty admission was the second condition that the Kadyrovites nominated for the Amriev family. The first was the abandonment of lawyer Peter Zaikin from the Committee on Prevention of Torture.

Amriev was charged with part 3 of Article 327 of the Criminal Code (using a knowingly forgery document), which provides for up to two years of service or up to six months of arrest. According to the plot of the case, receiving a passport in 2001, the formidable indicated the wrong year of birth-1986 instead of 1985. In fact, Amriev was issued a document on the basis of a copy of a birth certificate lost during the war. The copy was already present, and Amriev pointed out this, but they did not correct the date in the police. Subsequently, the thunderstorm repeatedly made attempts to eliminate the error, but the appeals to the passport-visa service did not bring the result.

The case against Amriev was opened in November 2013, after he filed an application for torture on the Kadyrovites. At the same time, the head of the threat of the city Ministry of Internal Affairs was originally investigated. The thunderstorm was put on the wanted list, but in 2014 it was excluded from the base of the wanted persons.

On August 25, 2013, the Kadyrovites abducted Amriev in the center of the Grozny and took him to the city Ministry of Internal Affairs, where they beaten for two days, tortured, suspended the ceiling and undergoing humiliations. Under torture, Amriev signed documents about the attempt in 2008 by the attempt on the head of the Grozny police, Magomed Dashaev. Amriev’s older brother, who had been in Germany by that time, was suspected of a crime.

Amriev turned to the committee against torture (the predecessor of the current KPPP), and later went abroad.

On June 4, Amriev arrived in Russia to submit documents for a new visa in Moscow. At the Suzemka station in the Bryansk region, he was removed from the train to transfer to Grozny . As it turned out, on February 1, he was repeatedly put on the wanted list, despite the expired statute of limitations.

On the 6th, the transport prosecutor's office in Bryansk decided to release Amriev. However, the Kadyrovites - two police operatives and special forces in masks were waiting at the emigrant department building. Amriev recognized one of the Kadyrovites in Bryansk as a security forces who tried him in Grozny in 2013.

Amriev managed to take the security forces by surprise. Jumping out of the building, he jumped into the car to his friends who were waiting for him, and they left.

On the night of June 8, Amriev was detained by Belarusian border guards . The next night he was given the FSB on the Russian border, and on the day of the 9th was handed over to the Kadyrovites . In Chechnya from Amriev, they took a recognizance not to leave.

On the 10th, the former emigrant spoke at a press conference in Grozny together with a member of the Human Rights Council under the head of Chechnya Heda Saratova. He said that from the moment of delivery to Chechnya, no one "touched him and did not even offend a word." “At the moment, there will be no threat to my security, the safety of my relatives in the republic,” the former emigrant emphasized. “They gave us such a word.”
