Amazon thought about buying a Slack messenger

Slack Technologies Inc., developing the Slack messenger, received several proposals for possible absorption from large technological companies, including from Amazon. It is reported by Bloomberg with reference to unnamed sources.

Representatives of both companies refused to comment.

According to Bloomberg interlocutors, in the case of the Slack transaction, it can be estimated at least $ 9 billion.

In May 2016, TechCrunch sources said that Slack was interested in Microsoft, which was ready to pay $ 8 billion for an asset. However, the corporation later abandoned this idea, and in November of that year introduced its corporate messenger - Teams.

The startup Slack was founded in 2013. From this moment, the company attracted about $ 540 million from investors. In the last round of financing - in April 2016 - Slack was able to attract $ 200 million when evaluating the entire company of $ 3.8 billion.
