Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Alexei Shaposhnikov reported that in connection with the adoption of the federal law on housing renovation in Moscow, it will be necessary to amend the capital's law on guarantees for residents of houses being resettled.

"We have studied the final version of the federal law on renovation to see if it is necessary to amend our Moscow law. I want to say that we will not have to make any major changes. Conceptually, nothing will change. But there are some legal subtleties that we cannot fail to take into account, and we will definitely bring our law into line with the federal law," Shaposhnikov said.

He explained that it would be necessary to supplement the content of the concept of "renovation". It would also be necessary to make a change of a legal and technical nature concerning the provision of new apartments to tenants under social tenancy agreements. In addition, the capital's deputies may supplement the city law with a provision that the order of demolition of apartment buildings under the renovation program should be determined taking into account their technical condition.

At the same time, Shaposhnikov emphasized that all 12 guarantees that were included in the Moscow law were included in the federal law. In particular, the program will include only those houses in which 2/3 of the owners vote "for".
