© Exhibit a Pictures Frame from the movie "78/52"On June 20, in the summer cinema of Garage Screen in Gorky Park in Moscow, a series of film screenings “American cinema in faces” will open the joint program “Cinema about Kino” Museum of Contemporary Art “Garage” and the Documentary Cinema Center (CD).
The series "American cinema in the faces" is dedicated to directors to Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Orson Wells and Richard Linklater.
On June 20, the documentary “78/52” (2017) of Alexander O. Philip will be shown, analyzing the famous scene of the murder in Hitchcock’s film “Psycho” ( Psycho , 1960), the restored version of which can be watched the next day, June 21 . The first series of impressions will be presented by film critic, filming and translator Nina Tsyrkun, who will tell about the directorial method of Hitchcock.
The next block of impressions will be dedicated to Richard Linklater. On July 12, the program “Follow the Dream” ( Richard Linklater: Dream is Destiny , 2016) Karen Bernstine and Luis Black, July 13 - the second full -length film of the Linelist Linkker ( Slacker , 1990).
The third block, August 15 and 16 , tells about Stanley Kubrick. The documentary of Rodney Ausher “Room 237” ( Room 237 , 2012) will be shown along with the directorial version of the film “The Shining” ( The Shining , 1980).
The program will end on September 5 and 6 with a show of the documentary “Meet, Orson Wells” ( This Ison Welles , 2015) Clara and Julia Cooperberg and the restored version of Wells “Lady from Shanghai” ( The Lady from Shanghai , 1947).
All films will be shown in English with Russian subtitles.
