Detention is higher than suspicion

In Ukraine, a suspect was detained in involvement in the murder of the former State Duma deputy Denis Voronenkov. This was reported by the press service of the National Police.

"In the city of the Pavlograd, the Dnipropetrovsk region, representatives of the Prosecutor General’s Office, together with the police, carry out the necessary investigative actions in the case of the death of the ex-deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation Denis Voronenkov. In the framework of this criminal proceedings, law enforcement officers are detained of involvement in this crime. The necessary procedural actions are also carried out, in particular searches. Destroyed law enforcement officers deliver. The police departments for further necessary investigative actions, ”the report said.

Later, the prosecutor’s office of Kiev, who is investigating, said that we are talking about one detained. "As part of the production, one person is currently detained who is reported about suspicion of involvement in this crime," the report said. In Ukrainian criminal procedure law, the message of suspicion corresponds to the charges of Russian.

As the newspaper Vesti clarifies , we are talking about the Ukrainian nationalist Yaroslav Tarasenko, who headed the local cell of the former leader of the Right Sector Dmitry Yarosh in Pavlograd.

Tarasenko’s wife Nadezhda Goryanskaya told the publication that Tarasenko was familiar with other defendants in the case Pavel Parshin and Yaroslav Levents, but with her he did not say anything about Voronenkov.

Meanwhile, on Friday morning, the head of the Kyiv headquarters of the National Police in Kyiv, Andrei Krishchenko, said that no suspicion had yet been presented to anyone in the criminal case on the murder of Voronenkov. “There is really serious work in this case. There are a number of significant areas. I will say more: so far the suspicion has not been presented to anyone. But the work is carried out very tightly,” Krishchenko said in an interview with Interfax -Ukraine.

Voronenkov was shot dead on the afternoon of March 23 at the Premier Palace Hotel in the center of Kiev, when he was heading to meet with another fugitive ex -deputy of the State Duma - Ilya Ponomarev. Later on the same day, he had to testify in the Main Military Prosecutor's Office of Ukraine, which is investigating the case of treason, opened against the former president of the country Viktor Yanukovych, who fled to Russia.

They attacked Voronenkov when he, accompanied by a bodyguard, left the hotel. The ex-deputy received one bullet in the neck, two in the face and one in the stomach and died on the spot.

The bodyguard was wounded in the heart, but opened a response and mortally wounded the killer. Both were taken to the hospital; The killer died a few hours later.

President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko directly accused Russia of a crime. Prosecutor General Yuri Lutsenko also called versions about the Russian trace priority.

Meanwhile, the press secretary of Vladimir Putin Dmitry Peskov called these versions absurd and accused Ukraine of not being able to ensure the security of a fugitive ex-deputy.

On March 24, it turned out that the killer of Voronenkov was 28-year-old citizen of Ukraine Pavel Parshov , who has been on the wanted list in the case of economic crimes since 2011. At the same time, it was argued that he had served in the National Guard for more than a year and, although he did not fought in the ATO zone, had a certificate of participant in hostilities.

It was also reported that Parshov never officially left Ukraine, but at the beginning of 2015, having passed the border with Belarus, he visited Russia, where he trained at the training courses of saboteurs.

Voronenkov with his wife Maria Maksakova, also an ex-deputy of the State Duma, left for Ukraine back in October last year, immediately after the end of their powers, and in December they received citizenship of this country. The departure of both, however, became known only on February 14th .

It is known that Voronenkov was one of the deputies who voted for the annexation of Crimea in 2014. He himself, however, was in Kyiv, said that he did not participate in the vote. According to him, colleagues in the faction voted for him, although he did not give them a power of attorney for this.

On February 16, the Communist Party of the Communist Party excluded Voronenkov from its members , and United Russia - Maksakov.
