The case of Mikhail Galyashkin: trial according to the extent of suppression

On June 14, Judge Yevgenia Nikolayeva extended the accused's detention by 48 hours. He explained that he intends to ask for Galyashkin's house arrest, but he needs time to collect additional documents on the case.

The criminal case on the fact of the attack on the riot police became known immediately after the dispersal of the rally on June 12. It was reported that two detainees on Tverskaya Street - Anton Shaposhnikov and Mikhail Davydov - were taken out for interrogations at the TFR from the base station "Lyublino". However, as it turned out later, they did not become suspects - both were returned to the police.

On the morning of the 13th, the initiation of the case was officially confirmed . It is qualified under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (use of non-dangerous violence against a representative of the authorities), which provides for up to five years in prison. The investigation is conducted by the Central Directorate of the Department for the Investigation of Particularly Important Cases.

It was reported that the suspect, while at house 18, building 1 on Tverskaya (the building is located on Pushkinskaya Square), sprayed "irritating tear gas" into the eyes of an riot policeman. The security officer received an eye burn; he was said to have required medical attention.

On Tuesday afternoon, information was received that Galyashkin was the suspect . The young man was also detained at the action on June 12; he was in the OP "Tekstilshchiki".

It was also reported that Galyashkin refused to testify, citing Article 51 of the Constitution.

Galyashkin was born in November 1999 in St. Petersburg; lives with his mother in Moscow, graduates from the 11th grade. He managed to pass two mandatory exams - in Russian and mathematics - but did not get into elective exams due to detention. After school, Galyashkin intended to enter the Faculty of Economics.

The young man calls himself an anarchist, as well as a supporter of Eduard Limonov. At the same time, the detainee's mother added, he "advocates the rule of law - hence the interest in Alexei Navalny."
