Mikhail Prokhorov sold to RBC

The Onexim group of billionaire Mikhail Prokhorov sold the RBC media holding to Grigory Berezkin, the founder and owner of the ESN group. This was reported by the Dozhd TV channel, citing three sources.

The press secretary of the Onexim group, Andrei Belyak, in a conversation with Novaya Gazeta, could not confirm this information and promised to comment later.

Recall that in early June, Berezkin, in a conversation with reporters on the sidelines of the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum, said that the deal to buy RBC was almost completed. “There is nothing fundamental (in the deal – ed.) left,” he explained. Berezkin also owns the Komsomolskaya Pravda publishing house and the Moscow newspaper Metro.

Earlier, in early April, Igor Trosnikov, co-head of the RBC media holding , told the editorial staff that the current owner, Mikhail Prokhorov, was negotiating the sale of the holding to the head of the ESN group of companies, Grigory Berezkin. The details of the deal are still under wraps.

Last year, RBC editor-in-chief Roman Badanin, newspaper head Maxim Solyus, and editor-in-chief of the united editorial office Elizaveta Osetinskaya left the media holding.
