The unique monument of military history in Vladivostok is threatened with death

In Vladivostok, a unique historical monument - the Voroshilov battery, was under the threat of destruction, was under the threat of destruction.

The coastal tower battery No. 981 named after Klima Voroshilov consists of two 305-mm gun towers removed from the Poltava battleship, and impressive dungeons of several floors. It was commissioned in 1934. They say that the place in the area of ​​the Bay was chosen by the People's Commissar of Defense Klim Voroshilov - hence the name. In the 80s, the battery “played” in the film “Moonzund” by Pikul, in 1997 she went to rest, later became a branch of the Military Historical Museum of the TOF.

This is one of the most popular tourist points - fortification monuments similar to the objects of the Vladivostok fortress, in the world there is almost no left. The battery, listed in the Guinness Book of Records, never shot at the enemy. It is believed that with its very presence, she fulfilled the task of covering Vladivostok from an attack from the sea.

The alarm was raised by a member of the Russian Geographical Society, the chairman of the Vladivostok fortress military-historical club Vladimir Kalinin. According to him, the arrangement of Patriot Park has begun on the territory of the battery. Military builders are engaged in the submission of the command of the Eastern Military District, and without a project and approvals, which is fraught with the destruction of the monument.

“For the second tower, they decided to make a shooting range - it is very appropriate on an excursion facility! And so that the arrows do not fall into the courtyard of the second block of guns, it is covered with a roof on top, hiding the unique facade of the entrance to the tower block forever from people. The fungus for the sentry has already been demolished, one of the spare ditches were covered. The leadership of the TOF museum is afraid of his uncle in uniform, for it depends on them, ”says Kalinin.

The initiators of the construction so far remain silent. After several publications in the local press, the Voroshilovskaya battery memorial complex was closed “for the time of land -proof and restoration work” - in the midst of the tourist season. Now it’s so easy not to get to the battery - at the entrance the post of WAI is even put up. However, in the photographs that are posted on the forums, it is clear that the construction affects almost the entire territory of the battery.

One of the employees of the museum - local historian, military historian Oleg Stratievsky, who did a lot to preserve, including the Voroshilov battery itself, the other day was forced to write a statement about leaving (for not preventing photography of construction work). After the battery was closed from people, the dismantling of historical structures on Voroshilovka continued.
