The Nizhny Novgorod District Court of Nizhny Novgorod fined politician and member of the Yabloko party Oleg Rodin for violating the rules of participation in the rally on March 26 (Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code) ten thousand rubles. Representatives of the Yabloko party told the publication that the very fact of the trial was considered extremely strange, since Rodin was not detained on the day of the rally and no claims were brought against him. A case was opened against the activist after the end of the rally, according to information from the Center for Countering Extremism (Center “E”). Another activist, deputy chairman of the Nizhny Novgorod branch of Yabloko, Alexei Sadomovsky, is also expecting a similar court decision.
In Tatarstan, on June 19, the Almetyevsk City Court found the organizers of the anti-corruption rally on June 12, Sergei Andreev and Maria Yakupova, guilty of violating the rules of holding a public event (Part 2 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code). Andreev was arrested for five days, and Yakupova was fined ten thousand rubles. Both of them were forcibly brought to court, writes Idel. Realities."
Andreev was detained in his own house on June 19, after breaking into the door.
