Contradictions. 2013On July 5, in the Gallery "Electromose in Rostokino" the Association "Exhibition Halls of Moscow" will open an exhibition "Art and City: graffiti in the era of the Internet", which will talk about the history of the development of modern graffiti and the border between vandalism and art.
The exhibition will present photo and video documentation of significant graffiti projects of different years in a historical context, as well as work created specifically for the exhibition.
Among the artists whose work will be included in the exposition, Mathieu is Tramble (France), Yamaguchi Takahiro (Japan), Filippo Minelli (Italy), Mirko Raisser / DAIM (Germany), Brad Dauni (USA), Tavar Poster (USA), Hit Banting (Britain), John Fekner (USA), Sasha (USA), Sasha Kurmaz (Ukraine), Pasha 183 (Russia), Cyril someone (Russia), Stas Dobry (Russia), Mvin (Spain), Veli Silver (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Amos Angeles (Switzerland) and 0331s (Russia).
“Modern graffiti from difficult to read inscriptions on the walls are transformed into practice, more and more distinctly similar to hacking. - says the curator of the exhibition, the artist, co -founder of the Partizaning movement, Igor Ponosov. “The inscriptions applied to the walls are a malicious code, a virus, a purposeful attempt to hack a working system.”
The exhibition "Art and the city: graffiti in the era of the Internet" in the "Electromuseum in Rostokino" will last until September 3.
