The court arrested the ex-director of the Gogol Center

Today, June 21, the Presnensky District Court of Moscow arrested the former director of Gogol-Center and the former general producer of the Seventh Studio Alexei Malobrodsky.

The term of arrest is until July 19, the Rain TV channel reports. One of the reasons for the arrest was called by investigators that Malobrodsky had dual citizenship - Russia and Israel. Malobrodsky was charged with an especially large -scale fraud committed by a group of persons (part 4 of article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), Interfax notes.

Malobrodsky was detained on June 19 in the case of the theft of budget funds allocated by the autonomous non -profit organization for the development and popularization of modern art “Seventh Studio” in 2011-2014.

According to Medusa , at today's court hearing, the prosecution said that the funds allocated to the Seventh Studio were stolen for the play “Summer Night Dream”, which was never staged as a result. According to the investigation, the involvement of Less Bruskvsky in the theft "is confirmed by the testimony of the accused, suspects and a number of witnesses."

Malobrodsky did not admit his guilt. He recalled that “sleep on a summer night” has been going on since 2012, and since then thousands of spectators have been at the performance. The defense presented the reviews published in the media, but these arguments did not impress the prosecutor.

Indications in defense of Less Bruskoye were also given by director Sergei Zhenovach and composer Alexander Manotskov.

In May, in the case of the Seventh Studio, searches were held in the apartment at the artistic director of Gogol-Center Kirill Serebrennikov, in the Gogol Center itself and the director of Ramt Sofia Apfelbaum. After the search of Serebrennikov and Apfelbaum, they interrogated the Investigative Committee.

On May 24, the former general director of the Seventh Studio, Yuri Itin and the former chief accountant of the Seventh Studio, Nina Maslyaeva were detained. Currently, Maslyaeva is contained in jail, Itin is under house arrest.
