The Yabloko party nominated the Yekaterinburg mayor of Yevgeny Roizman as a candidate for governors of the Sverdlovsk region at a meeting of the bureau in Moscow. Before the nomination, an emotional discussion began, a member of the Bureau of Nikolai Caucasian presented to the mayor of Yekaterinburg a number of fundamental claims for his past statements and the work of his Foundation “City without drugs”. Nevertheless, most of the bureau expressed the full support of Roizman. Its nomination is still under a big question due to a high municipal filter in the Yekaterinburg region and the opposition of local authorities: on the eve, it became known that the politician may not collect the desired number of signatures. Nevertheless, even if Roizman cannot register, his campaign will help to draw attention to the need to cancel the municipal filter, according to the party.
The meeting of the Yabloko Bureau was held at the quorum of 10 of the 17 members. The chairman of the Federal Political Council Grigory Yavlinsky appeared with a little delay, along with Evgeny Roizman. The mayor of Yekaterinburg took a place in the hall next to his competitor Sergei Tyurikov, who proposed to nominate the Sverdlovsk branch of the party to the governor's elections. The candidates did not talk.
Before considering the candidacy of Roizman and his until recently unknown Tyurikov, the bureau voted to terminate the powers of the leadership of the Sverdlovsk branch of the party. Recall that on June 17, a scandal occurred at a conference in Yekaterinburg, when the head of the department, Yuri Pereverzev left the party and led most of the delegates from the congress, motivating this with the disagreement with the intention of the party to nominate Roizman on a non -alternative basis, and not the party of Tyurikov. As a result, Tyurikov was present in the ballot for voting with Roizman, but already in Moscow.
The chairman of Yabloko Emilia Slabunova rejected the accusations that the federal leadership was not listening to the opinion of the Sverdlovsk branch, and therefore a scandal erupted. Olga Vlasova, a member of the Bureau, said that within a few months after the agreement was reached between Yavlinsky and Roizman on the nomination, Pereverzev did not disagree with this decision - this was recorded in the Spring correspondence with Perevoryzev (the new one got acquainted with its content).
Nevertheless, in Moscow, Evgeny Roizman had an opponent. Member of the Bureau Nikolai Caucasian, making a reservation that he respects the mayor of Yekaterinburg for his support for political prisoners and the position on the Crimea, noted that on a number of issues the position of Roizman and Yabloko did not coincide. Caucasian reminded his policy not the most benevolent statements to gays and migrants, and asked: would Roizman agree in support of LGBT, becoming the governor? Roizman did not answer the question directly, noting that with gays he “did not intersect” and “did not offend them”, and they “live and let them live”.
The Caucasian repeated the question several times, causing the restrained laughter of the one -party members, then he asked if Roizman's attitude to replacement therapy and to the methods of work of the city without drugs, which he headed, changed. Roizman ignored the question about replacement therapy, and about the fund replied that if he personally had to blame him for, if only he had "incorrectly crossed the street", he would be planted long ago.
“The politician should be able to answer vaguely,” Kirill Yankov, one of the oldest members of Yabloko, noted about Caucasian claims. “If we are a party, and not a circle of protection of certain principles, the only correct solution is to nominate Roizman.”
“There are no chemically clean people,” said Sergey Ivanenko. -To demand from a person to make the correct political statements all his life-this is probably some kind of order, canonization, something like that ... We are nominating an independent candidate with all the ensuing consequences. He asked for support in the elections, he fights with the system - if we refuse him that it can tell people that people will talk about us? What are we doing what are we doing? "
“Unfortunately, Evgeny Vadimovich is one of the few living phenomena in the Russian government,” said the St. Petersburg politician Alexander Kobrinsky.
“You ask what they will talk about if we will not put forward Roizman - this will be said by the supporters of Navalny, who will never support us,” Caucasian insisted in response. “We can lose part of our nuclear electorate, and lose it forever.” Yes, we can acquire a new electorate, and even more than lose, but this electorate will not be long with us. Those disagreements that are between Yabloko and Roizman do not give us the opportunity to nominate his candidates for governors from our party. ”
However, most of the bureau in Roizman believes. “This is one of the few mayors chosen in Russia, who received the trust of a huge city,” said Nikolai Rybakov, deputy chairman of the party. - The experience of state work allows him to claim such a state post. He proved that he is a politician independent of the Kremlin and Vladimir Putin. He did not allow in his work no sarcasten, bad things that are very easy to do to enter the cohort of power. ”
“There are no such bold and strong people as Roizman in Russian politics,” Grigory Yavlinsky summed up the discussion. According to him, they discussed all the fundamental issues in the political position of Yabloko with the Yekaterinburg mayor and came to an agreement. “Popularity, charisma, causes sympathy, created the first private museum of icons in Russia,” Yavlinsky listed, noting that Roizman is quite popular and is ready to participate in the governor’s elections.
It should be noted that the bureau examined the competitor of Roizman, businessman Sergei Tyurikov, he said that in his program “increasing the investment attractiveness of the region” and compulsory free medicine for all children from 0 to 18 children, “from treatment of teeth to treatment abroad”. The presentation of Tyurikov, however, clearly did not cause enthusiasm for either the members of the bureau or, it seems, with himself.
The bureau voted in 9 votes out of 10 for the nomination of Evgeny Roizman as a candidate for governors from the party. Tyurikov received one voice. Registration of Roizman, however, is in question: according to his own estimates, more than 90% of the municipal deputies of the Sverdlovsk region have already given their signatures for one of their nominated candidates. According to Roizman, the local authorities received a harness to take all possible signatures so that Roizman could not physically pass the filter, and it is no longer possible to dial 128 signatures necessary for registration.
One way or another, even in case of failure, the nomination of Roizman can help the party in another struggle - the party intends to achieve the legislative abolition of the municipal filter as a prohibitive barrier for any objectionable power of the candidate. “To combat such an infection as a municipal filter is a very good partnership,” says Yavlinsky.
But Roizman himself is so far configured not only to participate, but also to win. “I am going to the polls not to light up, not to stretch, but to win. The chances of passing the municipal filter were significantly reduced. However, there is a chance to pay attention to the municipal filter of the whole country, ”the candidate concludes.
