“Getting knowledge is not easy, but this is secondary compared to upbringing,” the head of state remarked. “So that a person treats himself, to friends, to the family, to his homeland. These are absolutely fundamental things. And only on this base a person will be full -fledged.”

In February 2016, Putin called patriotism a Russian national idea . “We have no and cannot have another unifying idea, except for patriotism,” he said. “This is a national idea. It is not ideologized (so. - Ed.), It is not related to the activity of some party. This is due to the general unifying principle.”
