2016 Brexit referendum

A year ago, on June 23, 2016, the citizens of Great Britain voted in a national referendum to leave the European Union. 51.9% of those who took part in the referendum were in favor of Brexit, with a turnout of 64.5%. At the same time, the inhabitants of Scotland and Northern Ireland voted for the majority in favor of retaining membership in the European Union, while the inhabitants of England and Wales voted against it.
