The bank blocked the accounts of the head of the institution where the meeting with Navalny’s volunteers took place

In Omsk, Sberbank blocked the accounts of the head of the Rassvet sanatorium Natela Polezhaeva and her daughter after a meeting with volunteers from the local campaign headquarters of Alexei Navalny was held at the facility. This is reported by Novaya Gazeta.

One of the Omsk branches of Sberbank blocked the personal accounts of Polezhaeva and her daughter Irina, on which she receives a disability pension, due to the fact that, according to the bank, Polezhaeva is suspected of “money laundering obtained by criminal means” and “financing terrorism”. The bank did not specify where this information came from.

According to Polezhaeva, this is how the authorities reacted to the meeting of Navalny's volunteers.

If there are sufficient grounds to suspect the involvement of ... an individual in terrorist activities (including the financing of terrorism), if there are no ... grounds for including ... an individual in the list of "Rosfinmonitoring", ... an interdepartmental coordinating body that performs the functions of combating the financing of terrorism, a decision may be made to freeze (block) funds or other property of the specified individual. The sufficiency of grounds for suspecting the involvement of an organization or an individual in terrorist activities (including the financing of terrorism) is determined by the interdepartmental coordinating body that performs the functions of combating the financing of terrorism.
