The British parliament was subjected to a hacker attack

The UK parliament on Friday underwent a powerful hacker attack. This was reported on Saturday night by The Guardian.

It is claimed that the hackers tried to access the Imale Accounts of members of both chambers of parliament and their assistants. They were looking for boxes protected by the weakest passwords.

To stop the attack, the parliament computer service for some time closed access to mailboxes from devices located outside the Westminster Palace. Then the deputies complained that they could not enter their accounts from smartphones and tablets.

From computers in the very building of the parliament, access to the boxes remained open.

Deputies do not exclude that hackers intended to use stolen information for blackmail.

On June 23, The Times wrote that on hacker sites, including Russian -speaking ones, they were first put up for sale, and then published in the free access of the databases with e -mail passwords of 1000 British parliamentarians, more than 1000 Foreign Ministry officials and more than 7 thousand police officers.
