The Arbitration Court of Bashkortostan, as part of the Rosneft claim, arrested 31.7% of the MTS shares belonging to the AFC System, the group’s website says .
A 100% stake in the Medsi clinic and 90.47% of the BES electricity supplier also fell under the arrest.
“The arrest of the“ daughters ”of the“ system ”is another attempt to exert unprecedented pressure on the company,” said the representative of the group.
The press service of the System specified that the situation will not affect the operator’s work, and the court decision will be appealed.
After the arrest of the part of the System package in the MTS, the operator’s quotes accelerated a fall from 1.8% to 4.5%, Interfax reports. AFK Systems fell by 6.7%.
The representative of Rosneft Mikhail Leontyev, in turn, said that the oil company asked the court to arrest the assets for the full amount of the claim, so the MTS shares - “not the last arrested asset” of the “system”.
In total, AFK System owns 48.94% of MTS shares.
Earlier on June 24, President of the System Mikhail Shamolin expressed hope for the "Dialog" with Rosneft so that the companies could agree. According to him, conducting an independent examination with the involvement of a third party would help resolve the conflict.
On June 22, the “system” invited Rosneft to resolve the dispute in an extrajudicial order through an “effective mechanism”, the details of which were not disclosed in the group. In Rosneft, in response to this, they stated that they have not yet received from the "system" "nothing that can be called offers."
It was also reported that members of the Board of Directors of the AFK System turned to President Vladimir Putin with a request to intervene in the situation. As reminded in the Kremlin, Putin cannot interfere in the dispute between companies, since he lies in the judicial plane.
Rosneft and Bashneft filed a lawsuit against the “system” in early May this year, later Bashkiria was among the plaintiffs. Initially, the amount of the claim amounted to 106.6 billion rubles, but at the end of the month it increased to 170.6 billion rubles.
The plaintiffs estimated the losses of Bashneft in such an amount after the restructuring of 2014, which, in their opinion, the “system” conducted unfairly.
