The State Museum-Museum "Isaac's Cathedral" and the St. Petersburg diocese intend to change the partnership agreement, increasing the number of holiday services in the temple. This was stated by the director of the museum Yuri Mudrov in an interview with Interfax.

"The diocese made a request to correct our agreements in terms of the time of worship so that there are more services that are held in the central nave of the cathedral. We agree in the part that the days of the Saints of Isaac of Dalmatian, Alexander Nevsky - large solemn services were held. We reached mutual understanding," Mudrov said. The director discussed the issue of additional services in the Isaacievsky Cathedral with the Metropolitan of St. Petersburg and Ladoga Barsanophy.

At the same time, Mudrov emphasized that the museum will be inconvenient too much of the ceremonial services that will occupy the central premises of the cathedral. The institution has its own plans for tourists and other obligations that the museum must fulfill, the director noted.

“Without a museum function in the Isaac's Cathedral, the church has its own function: to say that there is good, how to live a person, how to get salvation. And we should show the miracle of the creations of human hands, the uniqueness of this. These things are very interconnected, so today there are no barricades,” Mudrov emphasized.

At the same time, Mudrov spoke out for the holding of the wedding rites in the cathedral. “To be honest, I wouldn’t just not object, but greeting, say, a wedding in the Isaac's Cathedral. Of course, in the established and agreed manner,” the director said. I say that we not only do not interfere with the Church, but are ready for further cooperation. We ourselves understand that this is the temple. ”

On May 31, the Museum of Isaac's Cathedral, headed by the Museum of 2008, Nikolai Burov resigned . Prior to this, in an interview with the agency, he allowed his departure from the museum against the backdrop of the situation with the transfer of the cathedral of the Russian Orthodox Church. On June 15, the Petersburg Culture Committee appointed the art critic Mudrov as the director of the museum .
