
The judge of the Lefortovo District Court of Moscow Margarita Kotov extended to the Ukrainian journalist Roman Suschenko, who was arrested in Russia in the “spy” case, the term of maintenance in the pre -trial detention center for another three months, and only up to a year from the moment of detention - until September 30. The investigator, insisting in the closure of the hearing, referred to the fact that the case had the vulture "Top Secret"; The prosecutor supported him. Lawyer Mark Feigin objected that the materials of the criminal case of a journalist in court will not be announced, so there is no reason to close the process from the public. However, the judge ignored this argument.

Before the meeting, Suschenko told the journalist UNIAN Roman Tsimbalyuk that he did not complain about the conditions of detention in the pre -trial detention center. The political prisoner said about the course of the investigation that two examinations are planned now in the case. On June 16, lawyer Feigin reported that one of the examinations is psychological and psychiatric. It is supposed to be held in July.
Suschenko is 48 years old, he is the Paris correspondent of the Ukrinform agency. On September 30, 2016, the journalist arrived in Moscow in a private case and was immediately detained . The FSB charges him Article 276 of the Criminal Code (espionage), which provides for 10 to 20 years of the colony.
