The organizer of the anti-corruption rally in Tuapse has been in police custody for two days

On June 25, Alexander Berezin, the organizer of the anti-corruption rally on June 12, was detained in Tuapse on his way home from a beer bar. Now he is in the Tuapse city court, where he is waiting for a hearing on an administrative offense - the police drew up a protocol against him under Art. 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. He told OVD-Info about this by calling the hotline.

According to him, after drinking two bottles of beer at the bar, he went home on foot. On the street, he was stopped by the police, who offered the activist to go for a medical examination. Berezin replied that even without any tests he could say that he had drunk two bottles of beer and was going home. Then the police offered him to get into the car and drive with them, and when he asked why this was necessary, they grabbed him by the arms and took him to the car.

At the police station, one of the police officers asked Berezin: “And what does Navalny have to do with it?” At the same time, Berezin himself did not say anything about Navalny.

On June 26, the activist was brought to court, but the hearing did not take place - the case was returned to the police. Today Berezin was brought to court again. In a private conversation in the smoking room of the court, one of the police officers said that the case was returned to the police “for a reason” and that now the activist “will get a serious case.”
