The European Court communicated Alexei Navalny's complaint about arrest after March 26

The European Court of Human Rights communicated the complaint of Alexei Navalny against the decision of the Tverskoy District Court of Moscow, which fined the politician twenty thousand rubles under Art. 20.2.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (organization of mass simultaneous stay of people in a public place) and arrested him for 15 days under Art. 19.3 (disobeying a lawful order of a police officer). This was reported in Navalny's blog.

According to the applicants, the Russian authorities violated several articles of the European Convention for the Protection of Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms in relation to Navalny: Article 5 (the right to liberty and security of person), Article 6 (the right to a fair trial), Article 10 (the right on freedom of expression), 11th (the right to freedom of assembly and association) and 18th (in connection with the restriction of these rights for politically motivated purposes not related to the provision of justice). The Russian Federation will have to answer questions from the Strasbourg Court by August 31.

Now Alexei Navalny is serving an administrative arrest for a period of 25 days for the June 12 rally.
