About 150 people came to the building on Bolshaya Dmitrovka. They demanded to transfer the consideration of the law by the Federation Council. The speaker of the upper house Valentina Matvienko came to the picketers.

"We looked carefully with the participation of lawyers, whether this law violates the Constitution, whether it violates the rights of citizens. Today the Federation Council has no legal reason to reject this law because it has been significantly finalized and fully protects the rights of citizens," Matvienko said .

However, Mitrokhin did not agree with her and insisted on the transfer of the consideration of the document and its repeated discussion. “If you were the mayor of Moscow, I don’t know if you would have enough political will to go to such a large, powerful project in the interests of the inhabitants,” Matvienko told the leader of the Moscow “Yabloko”. “I will still be the mayor of Moscow, Valentina Ivanovna,” Mitrokhin answered. “I would have enough political will to resettle the hostel.”

Immediately after the departure of Matvienko, Mitrokhin was detained and delivered to the Tver police department.

In the afternoon on Wednesday, the Federation Council approved the law on the renovation of the Moscow housing stock.

On June 14, the State Duma adopted a bill on the renovation of Moscow housing in the third, final reading. The demolition program will include only the houses of "the first period of industrial housing construction" and similar in design. The law classifies buildings built according to standard projects of 1957-1968 using typical walls of walls and ceilings. Renovation will not be applied to emergency houses, they will continue to be demolished in accordance with existing legislation.

On this day, 14 people who stood in single pickets against the adoption of the law in the third reading, including Mitrokhin, were detained near the State Duma building.
