The head of Roskomnadzor promised to register Telegram after checking the data from Pavel Durov’s post
The head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, said that Telegram would be included in the register of information distributors if the information provided by Pavel Durov was sufficient.
According to him, “now we need to understand” whether the links published by Durov on VKontakte have “all the identifiers that are necessary for entering into the register.”
“Obviously, in this case we will not deal with bureaucracy. And if there are all identifiers, then we will enter it into the register of information dissemination organizers. That’s all for now,” Zharov said.
He stressed that Durov's answer was heard by him. “We welcome his position,” said the head of Roskomnadzor.
- In June, the head of Roskomnadzor, Alexander Zharov, said that the management of Telegram had a few days left to register in the Russian Federation as a distributor of information; otherwise the messenger will be blocked.
