“At this stage, the Telegram messenger has provided all the data required by law to be included in the register of information dissemination organizers,” said the head of the department, Alexander Zharov.
He stressed that now "Telegram has begun to work in the legal field of the Russian Federation."
The announcement was made shortly after Telegram founder Pavel Durov wrote to VKontakte that the data necessary for registering the messenger is in the public domain, and provided links to them. He said that he did not object to the registration, if it did not entail other obligations, including the implementation of the "anti-constitutional and technically unrealizable 'Yarovaya law'."
“Thus, Telegram began to work in the legal field of the Russian Federation. I am sure that other international communication services should do the same,” said Alexander Zharov.
