A court in Moscow fined a municipal deputy for meeting with his own voters

On June 27, the Lefortovo Court of Moscow fined Alexandra Andreeva, deputy of the Council of Deputies of Lefortovo, 25,000 rubles for a meeting with residents, at which the renovation taking place in the capital was discussed. This is reported by Novaya Gazeta.

The court found Alexandra Andreeva guilty of violating the rules for organizing a public rally (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses), according to amendments that have recently entered into force (June 18) , meetings of deputies with voters are equated to a public rally and need to be notified in accordance with the general procedure.

“Judge Galikhanova said that telling residents about the renovation is a ‘rally’. And they gave me a fine of 25 thousand rubles. Of course, there will be an appeal,” the deputy told Novaya Gazeta.

In the village of Dangauerovka, on April 6, a meeting of local residents and a deputy was held, about a hundred people attended the event. In addition to the rally, the court found Andreeva guilty of disobeying the demands of police officers (Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses) and fined the deputy for another one thousand rubles.
