The Gazprom group can sell shares in Bosphorus Gas and Promak, thus leaving the Turkish domestic market. About this "Kommersant" was told by a source familiar with the situation.
According to the newspaper, Gazprombank is at the final stage of withdrawal from Promak, where the bank owns 40% of the shares. This company belongs to 60% in two importers of Russian gas to Turkey - Enerco and Avrasya. According to the sources of Kommersant, the transaction amount could amount to € 40 million.
At the same time, earlier the deputy chairman of Gazprom, Alexander Medvedev, announced the concern's plans to sell 71% in Bosphorus. It was noted that the buyer will become the Turkish SEN Group, which owns other shares.
As explained by Medvedev, the Turkish market "loses its attractiveness." Among the reasons, he called the weakening of the lyre and regulated tariffs.
Gazprombank created Promak in 2014 together with Akfel Holding. The partners agreed that each party will have the right to redeem the share of the other for two years. The Russian bank decided to sell its assets in 2016. But the Turkish deposit insurance fund due to suspicions of the holding ties with the organization of Fethullah Gulen nationalized Akfel Holding. Negotiations on this transaction were resumed in the spring of 2017.
