The army cordoned off the residence of the President of Brazil after an attempt

On Wednesday evening, June 28, unknown people tried to break into the palace of Alvorad - the official residence of the President of Brazil, which is located in the capital of the republic. TASS, citing local media, reports that eyewitnesses heard the sounds of shots. To date, the building is cordoned off by the military.

Brazilian Globo TV channel posted on Twitter the first photos from the scene. On some of them, the iron gate knocked out from the hinges, on others - shot sleeves.

Reuters reports that the residence, seeing the car approaching at full speed, first made several warning shots into the air, and then opened fire directly on the car when it became obvious that the driver did not intend to stop.

According to Reuters, the attacker was detained. According to preliminary information, a young man aged about 18 years was driving a car. The head of state was not at the time of the attempt to invade the building.

TASS recalls that back in early March, Brazilian President Michel Temer decided to abandon living in the palace of Alvorad, because the mansion is too large and does not resemble a home hearth. He later told reporters about the "bad energy" of the residence, and also jokingly suggested that a ghost could live there.
