The current mayor of Reutov, Sergei Yurov, may become the new head of the Balashikha urban district. This is reported by the source of "Novaya Gazeta".
When asked by a correspondent about a possible appointment, Yurov offered to call him back on Monday and talk in more detail on this topic.
33-year-old Sergei Yurov is a member of United Russia, the first deputy secretary of the Moscow regional branch of the party. Headed by Reutov since 2014.
Recall that on June 27 it became known that the head of Balashikha, Evgeny Zhirkov, resigned of his own free will. Liliya Tatevosyan, the first deputy head of the administration of the Balashikha city district, was appointed as acting interim.
The resignation of the head of Balashikha came a few days after the closure of the Kuchino landfill, which local residents complained about during a “direct line” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. On the same day, the governor of the Moscow region, Andrei Vorobyov, went to the landfill and promised to close it by 2019 after the construction of a waste processing plant. However, Putin demanded to close the landfill within a month and prepare the documents as soon as possible.
In 2011, Novaya Gazeta published an investigation into Zhirkov's possible involvement in real estate corruption schemes in Zheleznodorozhny near Moscow.
