The Central Election Commission has questions to the Procedure for the nomination of the mayor of Yekaterinburg Evgeny Roizman from the Yabloko party to the elections of the Governor of the Sverdlovsk Region. This was stated by the Chairman of the CEC Ella Pamfilova, reports TASS.
“I am now turning to the heads of the Yabloko party,” said Pamfilova. “In the Sverdlovsk region, we have a number of questions about the nature and order of nomination of the candidate. Now it’s not too late to correct everything, I ask the Yabloko leaders, contact the CEC so that we will work in detail all the nuances, there is time until July 21 to correct everything.”
According to the head of the CEC, timely measures will then allow the party to "not to nod to the regional or central authorities", which allegedly "repair their candidate." “Come, I will attract the Ministry of Justice, we will work out the whole procedure. There is still time,” Panfilova noted.
At the same time, the head of the CEC called the creation of equal conditions for the candidates a “business of honor” for governors who themselves will go to the polls. According to Pamfilova, 20 parties nominated in total 88 candidates for the September Governor's elections in 16 regions, in addition, one self -nomineed submitted documents.
“I hope, judging by the trend that has outlined, in the regions of September 10, the election of governors will be quite competitive, judging by the number of candidates,” Pamfilova said.
On Wednesday, Vedomosti, citing sources close to the Kremlin, reported that the presidential administration decided to prevent competition in the elections of governors this fall. The Kremlin does not intend to allow "strong opponents" to the elections. Candidates who are able to compete with the current governors are already difficulties with overcoming the municipal filter and, most likely, will not be allowed to the elections, sources of the publication said.
On Monday, Roizman said that the authorities are trying to use the municipal filter to prevent it from elections. "On June 13-15, representatives of the regional administration traveled to all municipalities - the heads of all cities gathered all municipal deputies, and there was a massive notarial collection of their signatures. To be honest, it seems that they did not leave me the opportunity to collect the necessary 126 signatures. Moreover, there must be one more condition - they must be signed by deputies of rural settlements, but they certainly chose them. The authorities are very happy with themselves, ”said the mayor of Yekaterinburg.
The Yabloko was supposed to nominate Roizman on June 17 at the party’s regional conference. However, an hour before the conference, the head of the Sverdlovsk branch of the party, Yuri Pereverzev and nine more delegates announced the exit from the party in protest against the candidacy "imposed by him." After that, the conference was broken due to the lack of a quorum.
On June 21, the Federal Bureau of the Yabloko party nominated Roizman as a candidate for governors . Representatives of the CEC and the election commission of the Sverdlovsk region came to the meeting. Initially, they wanted to spend it on June 19, but later they transferred it, because according to the Electoral Code of the region, the regional commission must not be notified of the nomination of the candidate no later than three days if the meeting on the nomination takes place in another subject of the Federation.
