
The Security Council of the Russian Federation took place on the development of a digital economy in terms of ensuring the country's national security. The participants in the event stated the growth of threats in this area and agreed on measures of their neutralization, according to the SB website .
It is noted that the meeting was attended by members of the interdepartmental commissions of the Security Council on Security in the economic and social sphere, information security and experts of the Scientific Council.
They noted that "high rates of development of information and telecommunication technologies and software, as well as global network coverage, caused a full-scale digitalization of society and the production sphere."
In this regard, according to the Council of People's Commissars, "new threats and risks of national security have been formed related to the high level of import dependence of domestic industry from foreign information technologies, with the development of methods of processing large amounts of data, with the integration of the country into a supranational digital economy."
"At the meeting, additional measures were developed aimed at neutralizing threats to the country's economic security, taking into account the characteristics of the national economy and existing global development trends of the digital economy," the SB website said. What measures were developed is not specified.
Ways to achieve technological independence, creating a favorable environment for the development, production and implementation of domestic hardware and software were also proposed.
The meeting participants examined measures to counteract unauthorized remote access and management, collection and transfer of information.
