A man accused of attacking police during a protest on June 12 was arrested in Moscow.

On June 29, the Basmanny Court of Moscow decided to detain until August 27 Rasim Iskakov, a likely defendant in a criminal case on the use of violence against police officers during a rally against corruption on June 12 in Moscow. This was reported by TASS with reference to the press secretary of the court, Yunona Tsareva.

“The Basmanny Court granted the petition of the investigating authorities to take a measure of restraint in the form of detention against Rasim Iskakov, who is accused of committing three crimes under Part 1 of Article 318 of the Criminal Code (the use of violence that is not dangerous to life or health, or the threat of using violence against representative of the authorities in connection with the performance of his official duties). This preventive measure was chosen for two months, that is, until August 27, 2017,” she said.

The name of Rasim Iskakov is mentioned among those detained on June 12 in Moscow on the OVD-Info website. According to our information, he was taken to the Yasenevo police station.

According to investigators, Rasim Iskakov, during an anti-corruption rally on June 12 on Tverskaya Street, allegedly used three times non-life-threatening violence against an OMON fighter and two other police officers. At the same time, Iskakov himself did not plead guilty, but refused to testify.

The website of the courts of general jurisdiction in Moscow contains information that Iskakov is also charged with article 157 of the Criminal Code (repeated non-payment by a parent without good reason of funds for the maintenance of minor children, as well as disabled children who have reached the age of eighteen). At the same time, according to OVD-Info, as early as this morning, June 30, there was no mention of Article 157 of the Criminal Code in relation to the charge of Iskakov on the website of the Moscow courts.

According to TASS, Iskakov is a native of Dagestan and does not have a permanent place of residence in Moscow. Iskakov allegedly lives on the street, does not work, he has been repeatedly brought to administrative responsibility, including for participating in mass events.

According to the Moskva news agency, Iskakov is allegedly the unnamed person who was initially suspected of throwing a firecracker during an anti-corruption rally on June 12 on Tverskaya Street. On June 13, it became known that a criminal case was opened against him under article 213 of the Criminal Code (hooliganism) and released on bail.
