The German team won the Confederations Cup

Germany defeated Chile 1-0 in the Confederations Cup final. The only goal of the match was scored in the 20th minute by Lars Stindl. The final of the Confederations Cup took place in St. Petersburg at the Krestovsky stadium.

In the match for third place, Portugal beat Mexico 2-1. Mexico led most of the match but conceded in stoppage time and then in overtime. Pepe and Adrien Silva scored for Portugal (from the penalty spot). In addition, Luis Neto scored an own goal.

• The Confederations Cup took place in Russia a year before the World Cup. The Russian team did not leave the group, finishing third after Mexico and Portugal.
