The Federal Protection Service of the Constitution (counterintelligence) of Germany warned of possible cyber attacks on the part of Russia before the Bundestag elections in September. The report says that "German parties or politicians can be the goal of Russian influence." "Outraged reactions in the United States indicate that such actions taken with the aim of intervention may have significant consequences for domestic political relations in the country," the document says.

In German counterintelligence, it is believed that the main goals of hacker attacks can be the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the country, the Ministry of Economics and Finance, as well as the Embassy of Germany abroad. Also, crackers can attack the database of the Armed Forces of Germany and the department of the federal chancellor, the special service believes.
