
At least nine peaceful Syrians died as a result of the air strike of the International Coalition, led by the United States against the backdrop of negotiations in Astana to resolve the situation in Syria, the SANA agency reports on July 4.
Aircraft strike was inflicted on the village of Kashkash Az-Zizinat, 15 km south of the city of Ash Shaddadi, in the south of Khasaka province. The aim of the attack was the Islamic State terrorist organization*, but the local residents were caused by significant material damage.
The agency notes that last week in three cases, under the blows of the US coalition, the civilian population of Syria suffered, more than 90 people were killed, most of whom were women and children. In addition, the agency claims that in early May, coalition aircraft used ammunition with white phosphorus in the city of Rakka, the use of which in populated areas is prohibited by international law.
Racke coalition blows helped break through the defense of the Islamic State*
Earlier on July 4, the International Coalition stated that as a result of its airstrikes, the Democratic Forces of Syria, including the Kurdish militia, were able to break through the defense of IG militants in the Old City of Rakki. The coalition aircraft made two holes in the wall used by the terrorists, and the troops continued the offensive.
In early June, the coalition said that since 2014, 21,035 air strikes were inflicted on Syria and Iraq, in which 484 civilians were killed. Human rights activists believe that this number is underestimated. One of the last airstrikes was undertaken on June 27 in prison in the city of Meyadin in the east of Syria, held by the terrorists of the Islamic State*. According to some sources, at least 42 prisoners were killed, according to others, about 57 people.

On July 4, the fifth round of international two -day negotiations on Syria in Astana began. It is assumed that according to the results of the meeting, the real zones of de-escalation will be determined, the memorandum of which became the main result of the last round of May 3-4.
