The Leninsky District Court of Tambov arrested Andrey Polyakov, an activist and volunteer at Alexei Navalny's headquarters, for a day on charges of foul language after holding a one-man picket outside the administration building of the Tambov Region on June 28. This was reported to OVD-Info by the activist himself.
After being detained at the picket, Polyakov was released from the police department. At the department, a man approached him with a question about a T-shirt with Navalny. Immediately, according to him, police officers came up with “witnesses” and brought the activist back to the department, saying that he swore. Polyakov said that the person who complained about him to the police turned out to be Nazarov, a political science teacher at Tambov State University. He filed a misdemeanor complaint. Polyakov claims that "I did not even have time to say a word." The "witnesses" were Nazarov's students.
On April 29, the activist was fined 1,000 rubles after being detained on the day of the “#Tired” action. At that time, according to him, Valery Talykov, the director of the Tambov branch of the Michurinsk State Agrarian University and a member of the political council of United Russia, became the “victim” of his “petty hooliganism”.
