Police announced mining of Navalny's Novosibirsk headquarters

In Novosibirsk, police announced that the building housing Alexei Navalny's regional election headquarters had been mined. The head of the federal headquarters of the politician, Leonid Volkov, wrote about this on his Twitter.

The head of the local branch of the Progress Party, Andrei Gladchenko, reported on Facebook that police cars with sirens arrived at the building.

On the morning of July 5, the police tried to block Navalny’s Novosibirsk headquarters. Officers seized about two thousand copies of the election newspaper. The police told the activists that they had received a statement from a citizen who on July 4 allegedly discovered illegal campaigning at the headquarters.

In total, the headquarters contained 250 thousand copies of the newspaper, which the activists had previously brought from the printing house and planned to take to other cities. The police did not allow them to leave with the circulation, however, as headquarters coordinator Sergei Boyko reported, with the help of volunteers, a significant part of the circulation was pulled out through the windows and “evacuated to garages and vegetable gardens.”
