The organizer of the “Russian Marches” was taken away for interrogation in the case of calls for extremism

The organizer of the “Russian Marches”, Yuri Gorsky, was taken away for questioning in a criminal case about public calls for extremist activities (Part 1 of Article 280 of the Criminal Code). The activist’s wife, Elena Gorskaya, reported this to OVD-Info.

Gorsky was detained as he was leaving the courthouse, where an appeal hearing in the case of nationalist Dmitry Demushkin was to take place. As the activist told his wife over the phone, they were going to come to their home with a search.

According to OVD-Info, Gorsky is a witness in the case of activist Mark Halperin, who was sent under house arrest on charges of calling for extremist activities. As Open Russia lawyer Sergei Badamshin reported, the case was opened because of a video of an interview with Galperin, recorded on Red Square.

UPD: as Gorsky’s associate Stepan told OVD-Info, the activist is in the status of a suspect. He was brought to the FSB building.
