Sheremet. The price of freedom

Pavel Sheremet was killed on July 20, 2016. Customers and performers of crime have not yet been found. The motives of the murder are not installed. There is no information about whether the investigation has advanced.

For what and why Pavel Sheremet died? Who benefited from this murder? His loved ones, friends and colleagues are only building assumptions. There are many versions, but not one has sufficient evidence.

Sheremet worked in three countries - Belarus, Russia and Ukraine - and the authorities of each criticized. In Minsk, in the late 1990s, he was arrested and spent three months in prison. He later lost Belarusian citizenship.

In Russia, the professional career of Sheremet was initially successful. But in the late 2000s, he was forced to leave the main federal channel, because he could no longer put up with censorship and pressure.

In 2014, he moved to live in Ukraine. Despite the fact that Sheremet believed in changes and sympathized with the people of Ukraine, he criticized its power and openly wrote about problems in the country.

The fate of Sheremet reflected the dramatic fate of the three countries and everything that happened in recent years with the profession of a journalist, which he loved and served honestly and courageously until his very last day.
