My great -grandfather was called Mother Milk about: Lesh, but in fact his father was not angry - Nicholas, but ... Christopher. So he was christened in the church of John the Baptist Local Pop.
From history: the wooden church in the name of John the Baptist was built in 1755-1756 by the care of parishioners. The bell tower stood separately. In1846, instead of a dilapidated wooden, a stone church was built in the same connection with the bell tower. Thrones: In the name of St. Prophet and Baptist of John, consecrated on December 81847; In the aisle - in the name of St. Nikolai Mirliki, consecrated after the update on February 12, 1870 (1872?) In 1890, the second clerk was transferred to the Vochevsk Church. The parish trusteeship was opened in 1873 (?) G., the senior priest Yevgeny Bogdanov was elected chairman.

My great -great -grandfather grew with the extremely unusual, agree, in the name of Christopher (according to Komi - Christopor). Already, being a teenager, and who realized the dissolution of his name, he rebelled - he stopped responding to this Church this name, and more - he called himself Nikolai! And so he called himself, introducing himself: - Mikolai!
Pop was stuck and stopped taking it to the participle, but Mikol had a good thing with the sale of the made skins and Sura, and the pop did not want to lose the profit of the arrival. When our great -great -grandfather died, Grandmother Mukol said: Lesh Nose, he was buried in the local cemetery, with the name of which he called himself: Nikolai Gichev.
These were the Verkhnevychegodsky peasants strongly and the spirit of Komi.
