The SBU opened the case against the Russian border guards of Askar Kulub and Vladimir Kuznetsov, detained on June 30 in the Kherson region on the border with the annexed Crimea. This was reported on the website of the special services.

Criminal proceedings were opened on Monday. The Russians are charged with part 2 of Article 110 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (an encroachment on the territorial integrity and inviolability of the country as part of a group of persons by prior conspiracy), which provides for from 5 to 10 years of colony with or without confiscation.

According to the plot of the case, the deputy chief of the reserve outpost of the military unit No. 9930 of the FSB Kulub border service and the head of the cynological group of the same part of the blacksmiths "from December 2016 to June 30, 2017 performed official tasks in the interests of the Russian Federation in order to change the boundaries of the territory or state border of Ukraine."

In the near future, the Russians will announce suspicion (in Russian law, this procedural action corresponds to the charges).

Kulub and Kuznetsov are in the IVS. The special service will apply for their arrest.

Ukrainian border guards detained Kulub and Kuznetsov on the coast of the Perekop Bay of the Black Sea. Nearby, the security forces found a boat in which the Russians reached the shore. At the survey, they introduced themselves as military personnel of the FSB border guards and said that during the exercises they played the role of border violators, but lost their way and accidentally got to the continental Ukraine. The FSB confirmed information about the exercises and expressed the hope that the border guards would be returned to Russia.

On the same day, the Kalanchak district court of the Kherson region arrested Kulub and Kuznetsov for 15 days under article 204-1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of Ukraine (illegal crossing of the border).
