Managing director of the RBC TV channel Elmar Murtazaev will resign from the holding, Vedomosti newspaper reports, citing sources.
According to the publication, Murtazaev plans to “leave journalism and start his own business.” There are no details about the journalist’s plans in the publication.
According to Vedomosti’s interlocutors, other employees of the TV channel may leave the holding after Murtazaev.
Elmar Murtazaev informed the holding’s management of his desire to resign several months ago, RBC CEO Nikolai Molibog told Vedomosti. It was decided to postpone the issue until the completion of the deal to sell the holding; Now the parties “have returned to this issue, but there is no final solution.” Murtazaev himself also told the newspaper that there is “no decision yet.”
Sources in the publication told Meduza about the plans of Murtazaev and a number of other editorial managers to leave RBC after the sale of the holding to Berezkin in June.
