The Kavkazsky District Court of the Krasnodar Territory changed the preventive measure for one of the Tractor March, farmer Oleg Petrov, from house arrest to a bail of 500,000 rubles. This was announced on July 7 by the movement "For Human Rights".
Petrov was detained on March 28, 2017, the day on which the second Tractor March was scheduled. The next day, the judge of the Caucasian District Court, Ageyeva, sent him under arrest in a criminal case on the events of four years ago.
The essence of the matter is this. Petrov's longtime wheat trading partner, Vitaly Droganov, abruptly claimed in 2017 that the 2013 wheat deal between them was actually "sham". Droganov himself is in prison and convicted under an economic article. According to the movement “For Human Rights”, Droganov fell “under the rink”, he was deliberately bankrupted by competitors associated with local authorities and specifically the Kavkazsky District Court.
