Slogan: “Rogue. Edros. Hyatt" cost an activist of Navalny's headquarters three thousand rubles

On July 7, the Frunzensky District Court of Vladivostok fined Maksim Chikhunov 3,000 rubles for insulting Primorsky Territory Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky during an “alternative walk” on May 1. Maxim Chihunov, an activist of Navalny's local headquarters, was convicted under the article "Insult contained in a public speech, publicly shown work or mass media" (part 2 of article 5.61 of the Code of Administrative Offenses). Chihunov told the portal that he intends to file a complaint. “The judge ignored all our petitions – we asked to invite an expert, to find out whether the words “rogue” and “hyatt” are an insult,” the publication quotes him as saying. The activist told OVD-Info that the court session was held with violations: “The prosecutor of the Frunzensky district, Obukhov, forgot his certificate, and his judge allowed him to proceed with the case. And the representative of the governor confirmed his authority by some kind of fax, although there should be a power of attorney.”

On May 1, an “alternative walk” took place in Vladivostok. It was attended by communist deputies, supporters of Alexei Navalny and members of the Association of Initiative Citizens. In their hands, some demonstrators held posters calling for the resignation of the government and the inscriptions "Crook" on the images of politicians. There were slogans “Resign the Medvedev government! Governor Miklushevsky to resign!

Two days later, Governor Vladimir Miklushevsky turned to the reception of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Primorsky Territory and demanded that the demonstrators who carried posters of "slanderous content" be punished, VL.ru reports.

“At first they wanted to start a libel case (Article 128.1 of the Criminal Code),” Chikhunov said in a conversation with OVD-Info. But the three examinations carried out did not reveal signs of slander in the word "crook", so the police did not initiate a criminal case. Soon Chikhunov was summoned to the prosecutor's office of the Frunzensky district and an administrative case was opened.
