The court fined a beaten volunteer of Navalny's headquarters in Moscow 500 rubles

On July 7, the Zamoskvoretsky District Court in Moscow fined beaten the day before Alexander Turovsky, a volunteer from Navalny's headquarters, who had been , 500 rubles for an administrative offense under Article 19.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (Disobedience to a lawful order of a police officer). This was announced on Twitter by the activist of the "Party of Progress" Nikolai Kasyan.

In court, an officer of the OMON special forces unit named Glukhovsky, who took part in the detention of Turovsky, was a witness. He stated that the volunteer “kept his hands under the blanket and they (OMON) took it as a threat. “There could have been a weapon or a knife!” Kasyan cites his speech. Glukhovskoy also said that Turovsky "barely managed to wring his hands."

The volunteer himself, who spent the night at the Sklifosovsky Research Institute with a diagnosed brain concussion (the court attached an epicrisis to the case file), said that, spending the night on July 6 at the headquarters, “woke up because of the clatter, realized that someone not from employees, I only managed to turn on the camera, record a couple of seconds, then immediately hit.” According to him, there was no “SAMBO combat technique”, the need for which was declared by the officers who detained him, “they just jumped on me and immediately stunned me.”

“I didn’t resist anyone, I got scared and just tried to cover my face with my hands in order to avoid injury,” quotes Kasyan the words of a volunteer. According to him, Turovsky was asked for his passport only after the volunteer was dragged out into the street (the police claim that Turovsky did not show his passport, which is why “SAMBO fighting techniques” were used). The trial lasted about four hours.
