The court fined a witness to searches of Crimean Tatars 150,000 rubles

On July 6, the Bakhchisarai District Court fined Emil Belyalov, one of the witnesses to the searches of Crimean Tatars, 150,000 rubles under Part 8 of Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (repeated participation in an unauthorized public event). “When the court watched the video, there was an incident. The fact is that Emil and Emin are two twin brothers. And they have a third brother. He is older than them, but very similar. On the video materials, it so happened that the investigator did not know who was who. But somehow it was determined from this crowd that these people were there. But all the same, the court ruled, as a second violation under the same article, to award 150,000 rubles a fine,” Mustafayev said.

A protocol was also drawn up against Emin Belyalov, but there was no trial on it, why is unknown. The defense will appeal against the fine. The protocols for Emil and Emin Belyalov were drawn up on the morning of 6 July.

Searches in the homes of Crimean Tatars, as well as in a local cafe, were carried out by security forces on May 12, 2016. Then Zevri Abseitov, Remzi Memetov, Rustem Abiltarov and Enver Mamutov were detained on suspicion of participation in the Hizb ut-Tahrir organization, recognized as a terrorist organization in Russia. On the day of the mass searches, residents of Bakhchisarai gathered near the Salanchik cafe. The police considered the gathering to be an unauthorized public event and detained several people. In addition to Emil Belyalov, protocols were drawn up for four more people: Enver Sherfiev, Marlen Asanov, Emin Belyalov and Seyran Saliev. In December they were all fined .
