At least 35 volunteers from Navalny’s headquarters were detained in Moscow

In Moscow, at least 35 volunteers, including four minors, were detained during a “campaign subbotnik” in support of opposition politician Alexei Navalny. This was reported to Novaya Gazeta by Nikolai Lyaskin, coordinator of Navalny's Moscow headquarters.

He noted that some of the detainees had already been released without a protocol, and a protocol was drawn up against someone on violation of the procedure for holding a public event (Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation) and on illegal conduct of election campaigning (Article 5.10 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation).

“Of course, of those 200 people who campaigned for Navalny, no one should have been detained. They stood one at a time - someone with leaflets, someone with balloons. One person was even detained because of a T-shirt with the inscription "Navalny 2018", it was forcibly removed," Laskin said.

In general, the head of Navalny's Moscow headquarters, "subbotnik" assessed positively.

“Moscow knows about the event, people react positively. Yesterday we covered all metro stations in general, this has never happened before. We can say that we have moved to a new level,” said Nikolai Lyaskin.

On July 8-9, the headquarters of the politician Alexei Navalny throughout the country are holding campaign subbotnik campaigns. In several cities of Russia, the police, in connection with this, conducted searches at the headquarters of the politician and confiscated leaflets and newspapers, as well as T-shirts and other propaganda materials from volunteers. On Saturday in Moscow, according to Nikolai Lyaskin, law enforcement officers detained at least 60 volunteers.
