In Arkhangelsk, the police forced oppositionist Dmitry Tomatin to change the location of a single picket three times, Rosbalt reports .

On July 9, Tomatin went out on a solo picket for Internet freedom. He was unable to coordinate the action with the city administration.

First, Tomatin stood in a picket on Lenin Square. Soon the police approached the man and asked him to leave the main square of the city, because an agreed event of the Youth House was taking place there at that time. Dmitry Tomatin moved to the corner next to the house at Lenin Square, 2. He was also asked to leave from there, and he stood next to the entrance to the Central Department Store. After 20 minutes, this place did not suit the police officers either: “For about 20 minutes there was no one at all, then activists from the Youth House and two policemen appeared again. Then the organizer of the [Youth House] action came up and showed the paper to the mayor’s office. I had to leave,” Dmitry Tomatin told the agency. Later he returned to Lenin Square again and stood there for about half an hour.

Tomatin was the organizer of the June 12 action in Arkhangelsk.
