The head of Navalny's campaign headquarters is suspected of creating a computer virus

In Navalny's Krasnoyarsk headquarters on July 12, police seized all computer equipment. The search took place as part of a criminal case against the head of Navalny's campaign headquarters, Leonid Volkov, under Art. 146 of the Criminal Code (copyright infringement) and Art. 273 of the Criminal Code (creation of a computer virus). This was reported on the VKontakte page of the Navalny team in Krasnoyarsk.

Leonid Volkov commented on the actions of the police on his Facebook page:

This morning they stole all the equipment from our Krasnoyarsk headquarters; you already know about it. They came, showed a piece of paper in the spirit of “there is reason to believe that Volkov committed terrible crimes, so all computers must be seized,” and so they seized it. Or rather, they stole it, because the law on the investigative activity, to which they also refer in their decision, does not give the right to confiscate equipment until a criminal case has been initiated. But, as they write from the field, in Krasnoyarsk this is a common thing.

On July 11, in Krasnoyarsk and Khabarovsk, police confiscated campaign materials from Navalny's headquarters.
