In Saratov, the court overturned the fine for waving the Russian state flag

The Saratov Regional Court overturned the decision of the Volzhsky District Court of the city of Saratov on a fine for waving the Russian flag against nationalist Yevgeny Pekshev. This was reported on the Free-News Volga website with reference to activist Sergei Ryzhov.

The court sent the administrative case against Pekshev for a new trial.

The nationalist was fined under Part 5 of Art. 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (violation of the procedure for holding a public event) for 10 thousand rubles for the fact that on March 26, during an unapproved anti-corruption rally, he waved the Russian flag while on stage. According to the activist, he did not know that the rally was not approved, because “the police officers did not make any comments, but, on the contrary, contributed in every possible way to its holding.”

According to Ryzhov, the judge of the regional court pointed to procedural violations in the case:

Many procedural violations were pointed out, which the court of first instance did not consider it necessary to pay attention to. At this consideration there was a slightly more objective attitude, in the opinion of those present. For the first time there was an incorrect design of the video recording, the collection of evidence, there were many questions about police protocols.
